sometimes i get tired of cooking the same things for supper. {shocking. i know.}
from time-to-time i peruse the popular recipe sites. i came across these recipes and {surprise}
they're delicious!
bake them at the same time ~ it only takes about 30-35 minutes in the oven.
Florentine Stuffed Chicken Basic Baked Spaghetti
10 oz pkg chopped spinach 1 pkg {16 oz} spaghetti sauce
{thawed/drained} 1 lb spaghetti noodles1/4 cup grated Parmesan 1 cup shredded cheddar
1/2 cup chopped onion 3/4 lb lean ground beef
4 bone-in chicken breast halves {optional. i chose not to add
2 cups spaghetti sauce it since i was making chicken.}
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
begin cooking pasta, according to package directions {about 8-10 minutes}. {if using ground beef, begin browning in large skillet. once cooked, add spaghetti sauce. reduce heat and simmer.}
in medium bowl, combine spinach, Parmesan cheese and onion.
place chicken breast halves in 9x13" baking dish.
using a knife, slit the breast to form a cavity.
stuff each breast with 1/4 of spinach mixture. cover with sauce.
by now the spaghetti should be done.
add spaghetti sauce {combined with cooked beef, if using} and
pasta and place in a baking dish. top with cheese.
bake both dishes 30-35 minutes
{until chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.}
sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of chicken dish and
bake an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
there ya go... a deliciously colorful dish!
serve it with your favorite salad or even breadsticks.
buon appetito!
Great photos-- Looks delish, and it's all ingredients you'd have on hand!
