tea cakes
1 cup shortening
{yes, shortening. don't scrimp. use it. you'll be glad you did.}

2 cups sugar
{white}
2 eggs, lightly beaten
{crack 'em in a bowl and stir it with a fork or something.}
1/2 cup buttermilk
{i use a powder buttermilk blend & add water ~ it's in the baking aisle by the baking powder.}

1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp vanilla
{be generous ~ it's the only way.}
5 cups flour
{all purpose white}
bake 350°F for about 10 minutes.
bring out the cookie cutters!
